Rob van Daalen studied Analytical Chemistry and soon after his study he joined Elsevier. Since eight years he is publisher after holding various other positions within Elsevier. He is responsible for a portfolio of 12 journals in the field of Physical, Theoretical and Green Chemistry, which includes Chemical Physics Letters and the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science and Current Opinion in Green and Sustainable Chemistry. He is the initiator of the Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge (for which innovative green chemistry ideas that can be directly applied to local communities are invited) and the Green and Sustainable Chemistry Conference. Both the Challenge and the Conference are organized on a yearly basis and are in it’s 5th edition in 2020.
