Deepak Kumar Khadka, PhD is currently serving as the Research Director of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal and his responsibilities include drafting and overseeing policy and programs for supporting research activities in universities of Nepal.
Khadka received his doctoral degree in life sciences (Plant molecular genetics) from the Ben-Gurion University of Israel in life sciences and has experience of working in the Nationaal Institutes of Health (USA), University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (USA), Temple University (USA) in areas of developmental biology (early embryo development). Before joining the UGC, he served as the Chief Scientific Officer at the Research and Development Division of Deurali Janta Pharmaceutical (Nepal).
