Niranjan Koirala completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry (2015) under the meticulous supervision of Professor J.K Sohng at the department of Life Sciences and Bio-chemical Engineering, Sun Moon University, Republic of Korea. He is an expertise in the field of natural products isolation, modifications using microbial platform, metabolic engineering and co-factors channeling, compound’s characterization and testing their biological activities. Recently he focuses on the modification of plant secondary metabolites by methylation and glycosylation processes using system metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli and Koirala’s Double effect. Koirala’s Double Effect is the modification of natural products by methylation and subsequent glycosylation processes. This effect maximizes the drugs stability by methylation and solubility by glycosylation. Further, he has almost a dozen of international publications at his disposal and he is exceptionally a flair writer and projects designer. He has filed a series of patents for the production of methylated flavonoids along with Professor Sohng which are under patent pending status. He has been invited and participated in more than 25 national and international conferences.
