Prof. Huang works at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), P.R. China. He completed his undergraduate degree from Lanzhou University. He continued on to a PhD program at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research where he got his doctorate degree in cryospheric geochemistry. He mainly works on the biogeochemical Hg cycling in the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau region, emphasising the processes, mechanisms and influences of long-range transboundary Hg pollution. Recently, he has been mainly focused on the method development and potential application of stable Hg isotopes in cryospheric environments. He has participated in more than 20 major scientific field expeditions to the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau region. He also has published ~80 peer-reviewed scientific papers with a H-index of 34 (in Google Scholar) till now.
