Bijesh Raj Ghimire, MBBS, MD is the Co-founder of Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center and is also working as Medical Director and Consultant, Medical Oncology. He earned his MBBS from BVU, India, and MD in Medical Oncology from Sun Yat-Sen University, China and carries an experience of more than a decade in Medical Oncology. He has done a fellowship in Medical Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center (RGCIRC), New Delhi and National Cancer Institute (NCI), Bethesda, USA. He has published various articles in international and national journals and has done oral, poster presentations at various national and international conferences.
He is a recipient of International Development and Education Award 2009 (IDEA) at Orlando and International Development and Education Award in Palliative Care 2011, (IDEA-PC) at Chicago from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He was also recognized as Global Cancer Ambassador from Nepal in 2011 by American Cancer Society (ACS) to raise cancer voice to put forward specific requests for the UN High-Level Meeting on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at United Nations.
He is a co-founder and Vice President of Nepal Cancer Support Group (NCSG) and Executive council member of Asian Clinical Oncology Society (ACOS). He is an active member of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASC0), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), SAARC Federation of Oncology- Nepal Chapter (SFO-N) among others.
